Roseman University of Health Science

Roseman University of Health Science, previously known as the University of Southern Nevada, is a private non-profit university. Starting just in 2001 with 38 students, the University of Southern Nevada has since grown, with two campuses – one in Henderson, Nevada and another in South Jordan, Utah, and a student body of 1,000 students spread between the two campuses. The university was also awarded full accreditation by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) in September 2008.

Aside from being regionally accredited, the university also has programmatic accreditation and approval for certain programs from the following specialized accrediting bodies: Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, Nevada State Board of Nursing, Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. (NLNAC), Northwest Commission on College and Universities (NWCCU), and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

The university still has very limited course offerings under its three colleges: College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, and College of Dental Medicine. Programs offered under these colleges include Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedic MBA, Doctor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program (available in Nevada campus only). In addition to these, they also offer a Master of Business Administration Program, which is a fast-track program not placed under the supervision of any of the three colleges. The university also offer Continuing Education Pharmacy courses from time to time such as Nevada Pharmacy Law, CPE Monitor System, and a Winter Therapeutic program. There are currently no online programs offered at the university.

Tuition rates at the university vary depending on the program. For the MBA program tuition is $689 per credit hour for weekend and evening programs, and $647 per credit hour for the weekday program. The PharmD/MBA program tuition is $639 per credit hour. Tuition for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program is quoted at $44,337 for the entire 18-month program, and $49,105 for the 14-month accelerated program.

To help defray the cost of education, financial aid is available at the university in the form of Federal Aid.
With such a small student body, and the students already professionals on their way to pursuing an even better career, it is perhaps not surprising that the university offers no athletic programs or has any athletic teams to speak of. Students interested in pursuing a college education that is heavy on athletics should opt to look for another university that is more focused in that area.
