Rasmussen College

Rasmussen College, founded in 1900 by Walter Rasmussen, is a multiple-campus college with 22 campuses scattered in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida. The college also has an online campus with students from all over the world. With a rich 100-year history, the school stays true to its initial purpose of being a practical business school, preparing its students for their specific careers, albeit now in more diverse fields that when the school originally opened.

Currently Rasmussen College has approximately 15,000 students enrolled in its various programs and locations. Their college’s mascot is a green and gold clad moose called “Rassy Rasmussen”, who can be found gracing the various sports events in each individual campus. Obviously though, each campus has its own athletic programs and teams.

Rasmussen College offers associate and bachelor’s degree programs, accelerated degree programs, and certificate and diploma programs that are administered by its six schools, namely the Schools of Business, Technology and Design, Nursing, Health Sciences, Justice Studies, and Education.

Rasmussen College also offers undergraduate degree programs and certificate programs in online format. Some of these programs include programs in Health Information Management, Accounting, Business Management, Healthcare Management, Accounting, Marketing, Criminal Justice, RN to BSN, Digital Design and Animation, Game and Simulation Programming, Multimedia Technologies, and Information Systems Management.

The accelerated Bachelor’s degree programs are also fully online programs. These programs are focused six-week courses that allow you to complete your degree in as little as 18 months. The accelerated degree programs are especially tailor-fit for military members who have plenty of time in their hands between being deployed, but little time between, but is perfect for anyone who simply wants to finish their degree as quickly as possible. Enrollment also starts every six weeks, so you don’t really have to wait at the start of each semester to get started with your education. However, currently the only programs available in accelerated online format are Bachelor degree programs in Marketing and in Human Resources and Organizational Leadership.

Tuition rates at Rasmussen College vary per degree program and specialization. However, average tuition rates range from $300 to $400 per credit. Tuition for accelerated degree programs is $260 per credit. Note that this tuition rate does not include other fees and charges such as application fees and course material fees.

Other forms of financial aid you can apply for at Rasmussen College include scholarships, military service member discount, employer reimbursement, and work/study programs. Note that the military service member discount mentioned here is different from the military-specific tuition assistance, which military personnel are entitled through the GI Bill and Federal Financial Aid. The military service member discount is actually a 10% tuition discount extended by Rasmussen to military members and their family as a way to honor those serving the country.
