Northcentral University, established in 1996, is a Doctoral Research University located in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Not to be confused with North Central University, which is a residential college owned and operated by 11 Assemblies of God and located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Northcentral University is a non-sectarian, private, for-profit institution that offers distance education through online degree programs. The university is currently composed of over 10,000 students, majority of which are postgraduate students (almost 8,000) and only a very small number of which are undergraduate students (a little over 400).
Northcentral University offers Bachelor, Master’s, and Doctoral Degree programs all in an online format. Currently, they offer 8 Bachelor’s specializations, 31 Master’s Specializations, and 64 Doctoral Specializations. The School of Education has a more diverse offering with an undergraduate articulation program and plenty of subspecialties for the Master’s and Doctoral programs such as Early Childhood Education, E-learning, and Sports Management. The School of Business and Technology Management has the most diverse specialization profile with courses ranging from Health Care Administration to Homeland Security Leadership and Policy. With such a program offering profile, it is clear that this university is more focused on providing adults that have a need for continued education and aiming for career growth.
All of the online programs offered are delivered as online classes and feature their faculty mentored approach. Start dates of classes are also very flexible, and are in fact offered each week, making it really easy to fit in even with a busy schedule. There are absolutely no residency requirements so that you do not have to visit the University at any time, making enrollment in the online program truly feasible for anyone in any location.
Northcentral University accepts and offers various forms of financial assistance to students to help defray the cost of education. These include financial aid (Federal grants and loans), military tuition assistance and Veterans Administration benefits, tuition assistance at work, and flexible payment plans/options.
