Kaplan University, established in 1937 as the American Institute of Commerce, is a multicampus university known that is known for being a predominantly distance learning institution – specifically online learning. Its main campus is located in Davenport, Iowa, but its 10 campuses can also be found in 3 other states: Nebraska, Maryland, and Milwaukee. As a provider of distance learning education, however, its reach goes beyond its campuses with its services offered in more than 30 countries and students now numbering more than 66,000, including its campus-based and online students.

Nursing programs available are Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree program in Nursing, and RN to MSN program, and Certificate programs in Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Administrator Graduate Certificate, Nurse Educator Graduate Certificate, and Nurse Informatics Graduate Certificate.

Information Technology programs available are Associate, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree program in Information Technology and Professional Certificate programs in Cisco Networks, Computer Forensics, Information Security, Internet Web Design, Linux System Administration, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Oracle Database Administration.

Tuition for Kaplan University undergraduate online programs is $371 ($35 for BSN) per quarter credit hour. For active-duty military personnel, online undergraduate and certificate program tuition is $165 per quarter credit hour. Spouses of active military-duty personnel get a 10% discount off reguar rates. Tuition for Master’s degree programs and Certificate programs range from $368 per quarter credit hour to $441 per quarter credit hour.
